Windows 10 gives you control over the notification icon on the taskbar. This guide explains how to show or hide the icon using system settings for a cleaner or more accessible desktop experience.
Using System Settings
- Open Settings by pressing Windows Key + I.
- Go to Personalization > Taskbar.
- Under Notification area, click Turn system icons on or off.
- Locate Action Center (this controls the notification icon).
- Switch On to display it.
- Switch Off to remove it.
Important Notes
- Hiding the icon does not disable notifications. You will still receive alerts, but the indicator will not appear on the taskbar.
- You can always access notifications by pressing Windows Key + A to open the Action Center.
