If you prefer to download the raw image file:
- Go to Official Chromium Dash.
- Locate the board codename reven (codename for ChromeOS Flex).
- Under the Recovery Images column, click the version download link.
- Extract the downloaded

This image can be used with Chromebook Recovery Utility or Rufus to create a bootable USB drive. The Recovery Utility can also erase recovery media when needed.
Step 3: Boot Target Device from USB
Plug the USB drive into your target PC while it is turned off. Turn on the machine and immediately press the Boot Menu key for your brand (commonly F12, F11, F9, F8, or Escape). Select your USB drive from the boot list.
Step 4: Test or Install ChromeOS Flex
When the welcome screen appears, click Get Started and choose one of the following options:
- Option A (Try it first): Boot directly into ChromeOS Flex from the USB without modifying your hard drive.
- Option B (Full Install): Permanently install ChromeOS Flex by wiping the internal drive. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete setup.
Warning: Installing ChromeOS Flex will permanently erase all files, operating systems, and settings on the target computer. Back up critical data to cloud storage or an external drive before proceeding. ChromeOS Flex installs to the first internal storage controller detected, which will be completely wiped and repartitioned.
By following these steps, you can successfully install ChromeOS Flex and give your older PC a modern operating system.
With ChromeOS Flex installed, your device can enjoy a faster, lightweight, and secure environment designed for everyday use.
